As we are moving into the second half of our Kiwanis year, we should be continuing to follow the plan that the club laid out for this year. What service projects and fundraisers do you have planned for the rest of the spring and summer? Are there any new needs that you should be looking at and consider how Kiwanis can positively impact and address that need? In your Membership Plan that was developed, what invitations are you making to prospective new members for your clubs? Membership May is upon us and this is a perfect time to implement the plans and ideas you have to share and grow Kiwanis in your club and community. If your club did not do a Membership Plan, this is the perfect time to have those conversations and develop and implement a plan. AS you are pondering and implementing these plans and ideas, below are some additional reminders and updates for you:
As noted, Membership May is upon us. Each week, there is a 30 minute webinar on ways to strengthening your club. Club Strengthening Chair, Val Rose, lined up speakers form across Kiwanis International to share their strengthening success. The schedule is in this email blast—please take advantage of these learning opportunities.
· Club Officer updates are due in Engage to Kiwanis International by June 1. Clubs should be planning officer elections throughout May so the Club Secretary can enter the election report into Engage by June 1.
o It is important that clubs hold officer elections to provide leadership opportunities for members.
o This information is absolutely crucial as this will ensure that the new club officers are on email and information distribution lists to help then prepare for the upcoming year.
· The new Service Leadership Program (SLP) year began April 1. Please reach out to your sponsored clubs to meet the new club officers and ask them what they need for a successful year.
Thank you for your Kiwanis commitment to your communities and the children.
