Kiwanians…April marks the halfway mark of this Kiwanis year. It is a good time to reflect on where your club is. Take a temperature of club accomplishments from the first half of the year and lay out and confirm activities and commitments for the second half of the year. Reflect on your goals you set in the beginning of your officer term or your Kiwanis Year. Have you met the goal or making progress toward it being accomplished? If so, celebrate it or strive forward toward achievement. If not, evaluate what needs to pivot to get you closer to your goal. What are the next steps in your Kiwanis journey?
During this time of year, we also need to look at our Service Leadership Programs and make a renewed commitment to them. April 1 is the beginning of their service year (except Aktion Club that mirrors the Kiwanis year). PA Circle K District Convention was held March 27-29 and PA Key Club District Convention was this past weekend (April 10-11). We owe it to our sponsored Service Leadership Programs to support them in their service and leadership journey. Reach out to your sponsored clubs to introduce yourself to their new club officers. Invite them to a club meeting to share their District Convention (DCON) experience and most memorable moments. Revel in their enthusiasm and energy. Ask them what your Kiwanis club can do to support them. Invite them to participate in service projects/fundraisers your club is having. THEY ARE OUR FUTURE!
