KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Greetings PA District! You are part of an amazing and unique International service organization that improves the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis is unique in that each Kiwanis club, although we are one under the Kiwanis umbrella, is different due to the needs of the community we serve and the gifts and talents that each of our members has to give and provide.

It is imperative that club leaders and members have a knowledge base to do their roles and responsibilities. Kiwanis International and PA District have many tools, tips, resources and supports that are available for clubs, club officers and members to be able to do the amazing work that we do every day to improve the lives of children and our communities. There are organic resources like: your Lt. Governor, Regional Trustee, District Chairpersons that focus on specific area of Kiwanis and club coaches. There are tangible resources: Achieving Club Excellence (ACE) Tools; Kiwanis ENGAGE; Kiwanis magazine (did you see the most recent magazine about Strengthening your club?) Kiwanis.org and PA District websites. There are many training and learning opportunities available through Kiwanis ENGAGE, upcoming District Convention and webinars throughout the year.

I want to specifically highlight the Club Officer Trainings that will be scheduled in the next month. These Club Leadership Education (CLE) trainings are vital for newly elected AND returning officers to give you the tools and knowledge to lead/continue to lead your club to solidify its legacy for the upcoming year. These education modules will give you a foundation to lay out your club’s service plan and vision to meet and address the needs in your respective communities. It will also provide members learning opportunities as they move through their Kiwanis journey.

Please keep an eye out for information and schedule of Club Leadership Education trainings that will be taking place in July. Please prioritize attendance at these trainings, even if you are a returning officer…reminders and refreshers are always good and you may learn something new or different that you did not pick up on or may have forgotten. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
