The Kiwanis Club of the Main Line, based in Ardmore/Bryn Mawr 25 minutes west of Philadelphia, has successfully collected 1,000 lbs of plastic film in one year and received a TREX bench for FREE through the Trex recycling program.

On November 30, 2025 the club will be dedicating the newly TREX bench (pictured above) at Bala Library in Lower Merion Township. The bench ‘s permanent home will be inside in an area that will be used for reading events open to the community. The club’s dedication event will include a reading event partnering with Conestoga Key Club members who will read to the children while sitting on this bench. There will be refreshments and book giveaways.

This is the first bench that has been procured for the Lower Merion township and the club has already started their 2nd year plastic collection. The club wants to give a special thanks to our partners at Ardmore Toyota and Grands Stepping Up Denis’s Pantry.

This kicks off the club’s 100th year of service and several projects are planned to celebrate!
