You are essentially 75% completed with this current Kiwanis year. What does that mean? Does it mean you “downshift” and coast the rest of the year until the end of September? If you have a successor for next year, does it mean you do not do transition meeting(s) with them or if you are returning in the same officer role, does it mean you silo this year and next year?
Ummm—no it DOES NOT.
Your officer elections have been held. The officer information for 2026-2027 has been entered into Engage. Club Leadership Education live virtual sessions both 101 and 201 for President, Secretary Treasurer and Membership Chair, are completed. The end of the Kiwanis year is September 30. Are you preparing for the upcoming wrap-up of this year and to successfully launch in 2026-2027 Kiwanis Year, beginning October 1?
Officer elections are completed and communicated to KI in June to ensure the incoming officers have all of the needed information, resources and training to perform their role. If participation in live virtual CLE was unable to be done by your incoming club officers, PLEASE have the incoming officers listen to the recordings of these trainings. Please complete this even if you are a returning officer. The information is invaluable and will help set up for success next year. Ensure that all contact information for officers and all club members is current and accurate in Engage as this information is used to communicate with club members throughout the next year.
Schedule planning or transition meetings over the net few months to ensure smooth transition into next year. Reflect on this year thus far…what worked? What did not? What do we want to continue/implement or change? What do we need to have success? What is missing that your Lt. Governor, Trustee or District can provide or assist you with?
If there are contact changes throughout the year, please ensure that members or the Club Secretary update that information in Engage—they have the ability to do that—and that the Club Secretary ensures your club members know. Please let your fellow club officers and Lt. Governor know your preferred method(s) of communication.
Preparation is the Key to Success. Please take advantage of the time you have to gather and learn the resources available. Open communication is essential with your club officers/board, club members and District leaders to ensure consistent updates.
I appreciate everything you have accomplished thus far this year. Let’s finish this year strong and prepare to launch into next year ready and able!
