December 18, 2023 – As the holiday season draws near, I send my heartfelt wishes to all of you. Whether you observe Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, or another festive occasion, may your holidays be brimming with joy, embraced by the warmth of family and friends.
‘Tis the season of holiday giving, and Kiwanis has responded throughout the district. Kiwanians have brought countless smiles across the District during this festive season through their time and talent. Kiwanians have generously offered holiday meals, gifts, cookies, and joy to children across Pennsylvania.
As we all reflect on the many accomplishments and memories of 2023, I wanted to remind you about a few important 2024 dates:
January 2024, Signature Project Contest Opens! At the 2023 International Convention in Minneapolis, we were thrilled to celebrate the Kiwanis Club of Linglestown Area’s Little Free Library project to be one of the International Finalists! Keep an eye out for additional details about the contest to be open in January, and the announcement of winners will take place during the Virtual Mid-Year Conference. The winning projects will then be submitted to Kiwanis International’s Signature Project Contest. February 24, 2024, Virtual Mid-Year SAVE THE DATE The planning committee is actively engaged in delivering valuable information for our district clubs. We are thrilled to announce that KI President Katrina Baranko will be joining us virtually, bringing a special message for all Kiwanians LIVE! The registration cost will continue to be $20.00 per Kiwanian, with $5.00 dedicated to supporting the Governor’s Project. Stay tuned for additional details, which will be shared after the first of the year.
August 15-18, 2024, Joint PA and NJ District Convention – This event will take place in Reading, PA. The planning committee is actively organizing the agenda, educational forums, keynote speakers, and social events. Speaking of International Convention we are excited to announce the first International Convention (ICON) in the Pennsylvania District will be held in June 2025. The event will be held at the David Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh. Shawn Smith, Region 2 Trustee from the Kiwanis Club of Sheraden, has been appointed to be Convention Host Committee Chair. We are honored to host and there will be exciting opportunities for PA Kiwanians to assist with this convention. Stay tuned for more details about ICON 2025!
