March 18, 2024 – We are coming up on the start of a new administrative year for our service leadership programs starting April 1st. Our Service Leadership Programs are leadership and character-building programs hosted in a school or community agency and often sponsored by a Kiwanis club. Our programs include Key Club International for high school students, Circle K International for college and university students, K-Kids for elementary school students, Builders Club for middle school students and Aktion Club for adults with disabilities.
During this time we have two upcoming PA District Conventions for both Circle K and Key Clubs, where our students will engage in educational sessions, fellowship activities and hold their business sessions to elect their next District leaders including their next Governor. If you want a dose of energy and another reason why we are Kiwanians, I invite you to attend even for part of either convention weekends you won’t regret it! We look forward to hearing from the new 2024-2025 District leaders soon! The upcoming 2024 District conventions for Circle K District Convention will be held this weekend March 22-24, 2024 in Greensburg, PA and Key Club District Convention on April 5-7, 2024 in State College, PA. Please encourage or consider offering to send your sponsored youth to one of these conventions.
Does your Kiwanis Club sponsor a Service leadership Program? If you do, that’s fantastic and THANK YOU! If not, reach out to our Service Leadership District Administrators to learn how! Just think of all the possibilities to assist today’s youth with their club goals and service projects in your communities.
We are aware of some Key Clubs that do not have a sponsoring Kiwanis club, and we would love to get these Key Clubs some great mentors like you! If your club is in close proximity to any of the abandoned key clubs listed HERE (highlighted in yellow on list) OR if your club is interested in sponsoring from afar, reach out to the Key Club District Administrator Bob Orlando. This is a great way to get your existing and new members involved and engaged!
As the service leadership program leaders start their 2024-2025 year very shortly, we too are also looking ahead to the Kiwanis new year in October 2024. Governor-Elect Tom Harp will be leading the 2024-2025 District Leaders in a training June 14-15, 2024 in State College at the Penn-Stater hotel. If you are interested in running as a Lt. Governor or Regional Trustee, please reach out to your current Regional Trustee to start the process!
Governor-Elect Tom Harp is also looking for additional District Leaders including the critical position of a District Membership Chair for the 2024 – 2025 administrative year. If you are your club’s membership chair, why not take the next step and become the next District Membership Chair? Please give it some consideration, the District needs a leader who is motivated and enthusiastic about coaching clubs that may need a little boost! It is a great opportunity to meet new people and expand your network and learn even more about Kiwanis!
Thank you for all you do as Kiwanians in your communities for the kids.
