Aug 5, 2024 – Convention is 10 days away!! I am excited to see many of you next week at the District Convention in Reading, PA that will be held at the Doubletree by Hilton hotel Aug 15-18, 2024. We have so many exciting things planned, and this will be a special combined convention with NJ District.
Even if you would like to attend for the day and be at the Saturday Kiwanis Passion luncheon with Kiwanis International Immediate Past President Bert West or be a part of the PA business session, please register online by this Friday Aug 9th at www.2024Kiwanisdcon.com. You may have heard about the many Kiwanis International VIPs that will be in Reading, but we also have the honor of hearing from our rockstar service leadership program Governors from PA and NJ! This administrative year is not over so let’s finish strong! Here are a few reminders for you to keep in mind before Sept 30th!
Kiwanis Kash – Kiwanis Kash tickets are still available if you need additional tickets to sell. They are available from District Treasurer, Ben Osterhout. If you sold tickets, please mail checks and the ticket stubs to Ben Osterhout using the self-addressed envelope he provided with your tickets. Please do not send cash in the mail. Tickets will also be available at District Convention, please visit the Kiwanis Kash table.
Club Elections – A reminder again to Club Secretaries, please enter your club election results for the 2024 – 2025 administrative year. Currently, 65 clubs have entered their officer elections, which means that 68 clubs must still take care of this important task. If you are unsure how to enter the officers’ names for 2024 – 2025, please contact your Lt. Governor or Trustee if your division does not have a trustee.
Many of the Club Leadership Education in-person sessions have been completed, if your officers have yet to be trained, please consider signing up for Kiwanis International virtual training. Education Leadership guides are available electronically.
Monthly Leadership Education – The next Leadership Education Event is scheduled for Monday, August 12th @ 7:00 PM. Registration is available at https://bit.ly/PAVirtualLearning This Leadership Education is open to all PA Kiwanians, not just officers. Dominick Breton, District Membership Coordinator from the Rock Mountain District will be our featured speaker that evening. Dominick spoke at the Governors’ Conference held in January in Denver. I enjoyed his presentation and feel that all of you will benefit from hearing him. Read more HERE.
To cap off the year, we will have our final virtual education session on Monday Sept 9th at 7 pm with Past PA District Governor and PA District Webmaster, Sarah Zulueta who will present “Streamline Your Club: Mastering Electronic Tools for your Club“. If you are looking to make managing your club more efficient and less stressful, join us for an engaging workshop designed to help you harness the power of electronic tools to keep your club running smoothly! Registration link will be available after Aug 12th.
Distinguished Club Criteria for the 2023 – 2024 year – The Distinguished Club criteria for the 2023 – 2024 year is located at https://k23.site.kiwanis.org/awards-contests-and-recognition/. The club accomplishments for this award are for the time frame of October 1, 2023 through September 30, 2024. The deadline for this award is November 30, 2024. All recipients of this award will be announced at Mid-Year 2025 in late February or early March 2025.
Thank you for your service in your communities and helping to “Grow Membership for the Kids”. Remember we want to have growth in each division as well as the PA District this administrative year!
