FEEDING THE SOUL

Ahhh… Fall…My Favorite time of year! The crisp air, the changing foliage, flannel and pumpkin EVERYTHING! This time of year is also busy for our clubs and members. You are all getting started and “knee-deep” in planning for the year. I have seen pictures of Harvest Festivals, School activities, parties and Trunk-Or-Treats just to name a few. Clubs also participated in the PA Kiwanis Foundation Rose Sale, delivering beauty and love for a great cause! You all are also gearing up for many Holiday service projects and giving events that will bring smiles to the children of all ages in your communities. Please continue to share your events on social media.

Kiwanis Clubs are so incredible with their generosity and creativity to meet the need of their respective communities. As you may be aware, several more people may be experiencing increased food insecurity in the coming months/holiday season. I encourage Kiwanis clubs to support and address these community needs. Many of you all donate and volunteer at your local Food banks and conduct food drives regularly as well as fill weekend backpacks for kids and this is so very appreciated. I encourage you to share your local community resources for food availability. Maybe use your Little Free Library box to include non-perishable food items for people. As Kiwanians, we have always risen to the need to improve our communities. Also, if YOU are experiencing food insecurity, please reach out to get resources and assistance. There is no shame in this—everyone needs help and NO ONE SHOULD BE HUNGRY.

Kiwanians make a difference One Person At A Time. We are Many Hands…Making a Difference.
