Melissa Simpson, is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Harrisburg, PA and has over 20 years of non-profit association management. She is currently serving as the Administrator for the Harrisburg Kiwanis Youth Foundation as well as the Secretary and Treasurer for the Kiwanis Club of Harrisburg.
A native of central Pennsylvania, Melissa earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from the Pennsylvania State University and began building her association management business in 2002. Melissa has simultaneously managed several professional networking and continuing education organizations averaging between 100-250 members each. While having many years of experience in all aspects of management in professional non-profit associations, the Kiwanis Club has been a welcome opportunity to serve in a community-focused organization.
Melissa is an avid alpine skier and loves the outdoors. She lives in Dillsburg, PA, with her husband Jamey, and is a mother of 2 daughters. Melissa’s youngest daughter, Emma, is a student in New York City while her oldest, Jessica, lives in Noblesville, Indiana. Jessica is a “work from home” new mom to 8-month-old daughter, Gwenevere, who has gifted Melissa with the best title of all as “Grandmommy.”
Melissa is honored to serve as Secretary for the Pennsylvania District of Kiwanis to continue the mission of “empowering communities to improve the world by making lasting differences inthe lives of children.”
When asked of the accomplishment for which she is most proud, Melissa said, “While there are many milestones of which to be proud, my hope is that one day, looking back, my greatest accomplishment is something I have not yet done.”
