April 22, 2024 – Membership Update

May is historically membership month in Kiwanis. Some clubs still celebrate this tradition, even though they focus on membership all year long. What will you do as a member?

This is a great time to host a community open house, or showcase, to share with your friends and neighbors not only the great things that are happening because of Kiwanis, but also the benefits of being a member. Perhaps you wish to celebrate your corporate members by inviting them to a special recognition event. Or you could even host a drawing for one free membership. The possibilities on this are endless. Find something to boost your creativity here.

Now is also a great time to confirm that you have reported a club membership chair in the Kiwanis online reporting system. We have been periodically sending out updates to the club membership chairs and will soon be inviting them to the first ever PA District Club Membership Chair Summit, in order to hear from membership chairs from all over Pennsylvania.

It will be a great opportunity to meet and network with other Kiwanis Clubs but also a time to share ideas on what has worked and what hasn’t. The goal will be to provide a welcoming and open environment for the club membership chairs to be open and honest. We will also have some time for chairs to provide their feedback to some District leadership.

Lastly, if you haven’t read it yet, please read Governor Conrad’s blog this week. He’s got a great challenge out there for clubs. It would be great to see everyone have fun with this!

Thank you all for being a Kiwanian. We are looking forward to seeing how Pennsylvania celebrates our members during May!
