What gets recognized gets repeated. The ripple effect of recognition helps build a culture of appreciation, which is an important way to show members they’re valued. You can recognize exceptional members with any of the following awards.


Pennsylvania District Awards

Midyear Convention Recognition and Awards

The following are recognized at end of the administrative year. The club accomplishments are from the period of October 1, 2023 – Sept 30, 2024. Deadline for these awards are November 30, 2024. These are recognized at Midyear.

Pennsylvania District Distinguished Club Award
Criteria is determined by the District based on the guidelines and requirements provided by Kiwanis International. Clubs must meet at least 5 of the 7 goals (RIGHT) to achieve Distinguished status. District Convention Recognition and Awards

The following are recognized at District Convention and accomplishments are from the period of July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024. Deadline for these awards are July 12, 2024.

Pennsylvania District Distinguished Kiwanian Award
Eligibility for the Pennsylvania District Distinguished Kiwanian Award requires the following accomplishments during the period of July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024. All entries must be received on or before July 12, 2024 with completed form. Criteria includes:

  1. Sponsored one new member or invite three (3) prospective member to a club meeting or event through the award period.
  2. Participated in two (2) service projects/fundraisers/club meetings of ANOTHER Kiwanis Club(s), or Service Leadership Program(s) virtually or in-person.
  3. Participated in three (3) club service projects and have 36 hours of service.
  4. Attended three (3) club board meetings.
  5. Attended two (2) District, Regional or Divisional events virtually or in-person.
  6. Attended club meeting, project, OR event monthly for 9 consecutive months.
  7. Chair one (1) club project or event that serves the community members in a positive impactful way while branding Kiwanis in the community.

Community Communications Contest
This award will be presented to those clubs that most effectively share Kiwanis news and the Kiwanis message in their community via all forms of standard, electronic, and social media. An application with information will be mailed to all club presidents and secretaries later in the year from the District Office. All submissions must be received on or before July 12, 2024. Club Communications Contest
This award will be presented to those clubs that most effectively share Kiwanis news, education, information, and the Kiwanis message within the club via all forms of standard, electronic, and social communication/media. An application with information will be mailed to all club presidents and secretaries later in the year from the District Office. All submissions must be received on or before July 12, 2024. Kiwanis Hero in Service Award
Nomination information and award criteria is sent to the Lt. Governor of each Division. However, forms and criteria are available upon request to the District Office. All entries must be received on or before July 12, 2024. NOMINATION FORM

Prayer Breakfast Award
A Banner Patch will be awarded to clubs who conduct and report a prayer breakfast or event. A prayer breakfast must be reported on one of the club’s regular monthly reports to receive award. Prayer luncheons, dinners, and events qualify for this award as well. No form is needed to apply for this award.


Pennsylvania District Life Membership
Thank a member who has demonstrated exemplary commitment to the Objects and objectives of Kiwanis International with life member status in the Pennsylvania District. Individuals who achieve District Life Membership Status are those who perpetuate the objects of Kiwanis International. A three-year minimum length of membership in Kiwanis is required. Each member granted status will receive a framed certificate to proudly display at home or in the office. Each certificate will be individually numbered and a permanent record will be maintained in the District Office. A District Life Member pin will be issued for the member to wear with his or her Kiwanis pin when attending club meetings or other Kiwanis affairs.

Kiwanis International Awards

There are Kiwanis International awards that Kiwanians are encouraged to review. These awards are managed and awarded by Kiwanis International. Honor your fellow Kiwanians with these international recognition including the Ruby K award, International Distinguished Member, Life Membership (International), Legion of Honor, Robert P.
